More Information On The Top 2 of Wayne County’s Most Dangerous Intersections

No. 1: SCHOOLCRAFT RD @ TELEGRAPH RD, Redford Township

The busy area where Telegraph Road passes over Schoolcraft Road and the I 96 freeway continues to hold the top spot on our list of Wayne County’s most dangerous intersections.

There were 126 total crashes at this intersection in 2022, which was a 21% increase from 104 in 2021. In 2020, there were 108 collisions.

Significantly, crashes in 2022 were down 40% from 210 in 2019.

Crash-related injuries in 2022 were 30, which was up from 21 and 27 in 2021 and 2020, respectively. However, they were lower than the 41 injuries in 2019.

No. 2: MIDDLE BELT RD @ SCHOOLCRAFT RD, Livonia

No. 2 on the list Wayne County’s Most Dangerous Intersections for 2022 was at Middlebelt Rd. at Schoolcraft Rd in Livonia. Unfortunately, total crashes at this intersection have been trending upward. In 2022, there were 99 total crashes, compared with 78 in 2021 and 69 in 2020.

However, crash-related injuries in 2022 were 14, which was a drop from 16 in both 2021 and 2020.
