Gursten on why the city’s soaring auto insurance rates are a hindrance to economic development

Attorney Steven Gursten was featured in a Bloomberg News story on Detroit’s high auto insurance rates and how they’re affecting the city economically. Gursten told Bloomberg that the cost of insurance is a civil rights issue in Detroit, as insurers gouge Detroiters by labeling them high-risk motorists. In addition, insurers aren’t required by the state to reveal their profit margins.
