October 10, 2013 by Steven M. Gursten

The legal Recorder in California featured attorney Steven Gursten of Michigan Auto Law as an expert on autonomous cars in a recent story.

Gursten told the newspaper that lawyers may become obsolete by a lack of car accidents due to autonomous cars. But Gursten noted he’d like to see federal agencies set minimum standards to autonomous technology regarding liability.

Said  Gursten, “The answer is to still require insurance for owners and operators and probably allow claims against manufacturers and operators but have appropriate limits in place that protect both sides.”
