Dangers of truck crashes from debris and cargo: WNEM Saginaw News TV 5
Reporter Cheri Hardmon interviews attorney Steven M. Gursten on a “truck safety crisis”
WNEM Saginaw TV 5 News interviews truck accident attorney Steven M, Gursten, head of Michigan Auto Law. Reporter, Cheri Hardmon wanted to examine the dangers of truck accidents due to loose cargo, or tires blowing and leaving debris on the freeways.
Steve tells Cheri that there’s a lot more to the story than cargo “accidentally” falling off of commercial trucks and tires blowing “by chance.” He says this is the tip of the iceberg in a national trucking safety crisis.
Ms. Hardmon also interviewed Steve’s client, Cynthia Nunez. Cynthia’s brother Patrick Nunez was tragically killed in a truck accident when a fully loaded, 18-wheeler semi slammed into his car, pinning him against the median. The truck had bad brakes, axle issues and a tire blowout. In addition, the truck driver was on strong epilepsy medication that causes drowsiness, and should not have been on the road in the first place.
