A top 2010 car accident settlement by Michigan Auto Law

Auto accident attorney gets $2.5  million for driver hit by falling concrete from a freeway bridge

Michigan Auto Law’s $2.5 million settlement on behalf of our client is featured in Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s year-end report of the highest verdicts and settlements in the state for 2010. The lawsuit is one of the top auto accident settlements in Michigan.

In Adeleye v. Michigan Department of Transportation, a negligent road maintenance lawsuit, the plaintiff sought compensatory damages after a chunk of concrete fell from the bottom of an overpass, went through his windshield and struck him in the face.

The personal injuries he sustained included head injury, trigeminal neuralgia, broken facial bones and severe bowel injuries with iliostomy; where the plaintiff’s colon was irrevocably injured through chronic constipation resulting from pain medications that were taken for accident-related injuries.
