As a litigation attorney at Michigan Auto Law, Alison Faith Duffy focuses her practice on trying auto accident and No Fault (PIP) cases. In doing so, she’s gained extensive experience handling Medicare, Medicaid or ERISA issues that arise in No Fault litigation – which has resulted in her being regularly consulted on the subject.
I had Bobby and Alison representing me in my auto accident lawsuit. I was actually at work and stopped at a red light and somebody drove into the back of my car. I didn't contact them for about 2.5 years after the accident and to me it seemed like I was past any point of doing anything. But Bobby and Alison were still able to help me at that point. That was impressive to me. They were always prompt, professional and available by phone and e-mail when I had questions. Their secretary Colleen was also incredibly helpful. The team was kind and approachable. I was confident in their legal knowledge. It came through in the awesome settlement they got me. I absolutely would recommend Michigan Auto Law because of the way Bobby and Alison took care of me.
I had a warm, calm and understanding experience
By Kellie Prange, Roseville November 11, 0014
This is my first time going through a lawsuit. A driver was on her cell phone, slammed on her brakes and I rear ended her on my motorcycle. I had bad arm and shoulder injuries and had to go in for surgeries and now I have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. I called Mr. Raitt and Mrs. Duffy at Michigan Auto Law and asked for help and we went from there. They have been great working with me. Aside from the lawsuit, I've had a lot of personal injuries in my life, like the loss of my mother, and they have been very caring and compassionate through it all. They take time to talk with me and support me. They make sure I understand everything that's going on with my case. It was exactly what I needed. If anybody ever asked me for help after a motorcycle accident, I would have no hesitation to send them to Michigan Auto Law. The experience here was so warm, calm and understanding.
Alison always had my best interests in mind
By Noelle Christensen, Wixom July 24, 0014
I chose Michigan Auto Law because they weren't one of those firms that advertised on TV. After my car accident, I was looking for information and to talk to somebody who understood what I was going through, and I was happy with what I heard when I called and spoke with Jeffrey Bussell. Jeff got the ball rolling with my case. Alison Duffy represented me in litigation. She filed a lawsuit when my insurance company unfairly cut off my No Fault benefits as well as my lawsuit for my injuries. I liked the fact that she is a go-getter. She kept me informed all the way through the process. I could always get a hold of her by e-mail or phone and she always followed up with me. I knew Alison was fighting for my rights and had my best interests in mind. Alison got me the absolute best settlement she could. I highly recommend this firm. Between Jeff, Alison and her secretary Colleen, they all took great care of me.
My attorneys were so much more - they were like family!
By Sandy Pinson, Ecorse July 16, 0014
After my auto accident, I didn't know who to call. I found Michigan Auto Law online, which was good, because they have been great attorneys. Bob and Alison have been very prompt, were here to answer phone calls and all of my questions. Now that my case is closed, I'm going to miss them. They have been in my life helping me through one of my most difficult times and I've built a bond with them. They have been more than an attorney. They are like family. Anything I ever needed, I received. They wouldn't accept a settlement that was less than what I needed. Alison especially fought for me and got me the best settlement I could get. I would definitely highly recommend Michigan Auto Law. I've already recommended them to a few of my friends.
Truly care about their clients and their well being
By Marlene Morgan, Clinton Township July 16, 0014
My attorneys Bob and Alison explained the entire Michigan No Fault system to me, which helped me greatly after my car accident. They went above and beyond to tell me what my rights were. I've had my rotator cuff repaired and two back surgeries - yet my insurance company cut off my benefits. Bob and Alison fought to get them to pay what I was entitled to for my medical treatment. Bob and Alison have treated me like family. They cared about me as a person, not just a number. They are caring and warm, and supportive. People don't understand the stress and depression that comes after a car accident, especially when you pay all this money for car insurance and then the insurer doesn't help you. Michigan Auto Law understands. Any time I call Bob and Alison, they answer all my questions. They didn't allow my insurance company to push me around and tell me things that were false. They have always stuck by me. This whole firm is outstanding, from the secretaries all the way through. Everyone has been kind and understanding and willing to give me advice. They're not on to and commercials, they're not on billboards trying to drum up business. But they're such a successful company because they're attentive to their clients' needs and they truly care about their clients and their well being. I tell everyone about Michigan Auto Law!
The personal care I received at Michigan Auto Law was exceptional
By Jeannine Walker, Clinton Township June 13, 0014
The personal care I received at Michigan Auto Law was exceptional. When I first called, I was able to speak with Mike Shaffer right away. He was extremely helpful and stayed on the phone with me for 40 minutes. He also followed up and genuinely cared about how I was feeling. I hired this law firm on the spot. My litigation lawyer was Alison Duffy and I'm so thankful for her. She's very thorough. She explains things very well. I always felt comfortable around her and that I could ask her anything. She wanted me to understand the law in Michigan and my rights after my car accident. I was always aware of what was going on and what to expect. Her demeanor was always pleasant. The communication was constant and timely. I can't say enough good things about how I was treated. Alison was always very comforting when I had worries and concerns. As far as my settlement, the defense offered me less than what I wanted. I told Alison I wanted more and she negotiated a settlement I am more than happy with. I would definitely recommend Alison and this entire firm to anyone involved in an auto accident.
Alison was a bulldog when it came to getting things done
By Michel LaFountain, Southfield May 23, 0014
Michigan Auto Law is the only firm to go to if you've been in a car accident. They kept in touch with you at all times. I had Bobby and Alison as my attorneys. They both were very straight forward and told you what to expect. Alison was a real bulldog when it came to getting things done - dealing with the at fault party, my insurance company and taking care of everything in my pain and suffering lawsuit. Let's just say they let the at fault party know who was in charge and they got their point across very clearly. Even the mediator complimented Alison on the job she did. You just can't beat this firm.
Injured in a car accident in a company car
By Richard Ringer, Novi May 02, 0014
I was injured in a car accident in a company car that had very low car damage and the insurance company offered zero. They didn't believe my neck and shoulder injuries could be caused by the accident. Because of Michigan Auto Law's ability to set up my case with the proper documentation and closely working with the workers compensation attorney, I was able to obtain a higher settlement among the three claims: pain and suffering, no fault and workers comp. I had a team of attorneys: Robert Raitt and Alison Duffy. They always returned phone calls and I felt they truly cared. They were also straight shooters and told me like it was. I also had Brandon Hewitt for the pre-trial. He set up the case really well to get to the trial attorneys. From the very beginning when I signed up with Michigan Auto Law, they walked me through every step of my case. It was a very precise system. Because of that I received a $750,000 settlement between my lawsuits and I had $900 worth of damage on my car. This firm knows how to deal effectively with the complexity of intertwining lawsuits between car accidents and workers comp. That's what caused my insurance company to compensate me for my serious injuries. If anyone is injured in an automobile accident, whether a personal or a company vehicle, I highly recommend Michigan Auto Law. These attorneys understand the very biased laws toward insurance companies and they will do everything they can to protect you.
I would trust my attorneys like my own family
By Abby, Dearborn April 28, 0014
Michigan Auto Law becomes like your family. They're very caring. Very attentive. Always there when you need them. I think They are on top of everything. I had a team of attorneys on my case. Bob and Alison were wonderful. They guided me through all of the steps and laws that I didn't know existed. I didn't know anything about the auto laws. I didn't even know I could get paid for my lost wages and medical through my auto insurance. They did everything for me so I didn't have to worry. I would trust them as I would trust my own family. I couldn't have gotten through my recovery without them.
The support I received from Michigan Auto Law is what really saved my life
By Stanley Crabtree, Riverview April 17, 0014
Recovering from my car accident was one of the most difficult things I've had to face in my life. My wife and I had no money coming in, we got cut off from my lost wages and had medical bills piling up through the roof. Our rent, DET, gas bills... Nothing was getting paid. My lawyer helped turn my life around. Bobby Raitt is one of the most important people in my life. If I needed anything, he was there for me. He loaned us money personally, just so our grandkids could have a Christmas. Bobby made sure I understood everything that was happening with my case before I left the office. It took me a while to understand because of my unbearable mental stress, but he was always patient. And if it wasn't for Bobby talking to me on the phone, I would have lost my mind. My other attorney Alison Duffy helped us just as much as Bobby. I loved her. They were a fantastic team who always protected us. This whole firm is wonderful. Colleen, their secretary is the sweetest lady I ever met. I would recommend this law firm to anybody. They got me an awesome settlement. But the personal support I received from Michigan Auto Law is what really saved my life.
Alison was really there for me
By Andre Fontenot, Detroit January 14, 0014
Alison Duffy is a very honest and straightforward attorney. She took care of her business and was very helpful to me during my truck accident lawsuit. A truck hit me on the highway as I was merging and I needed surgery on my back. She checked on me throughout my recovery. She did the best she could with the stubborn trucking company we were up against and got me a fantastic pain and suffering settlement. I would recommend Alison. She was there for me.
English as a second language wasn't an obstacle in my case
By Adriana Villarreal, Detroit October 15, 0013
I'm really happy with how things came out and how my lawyers Alison and Bob treated me. They treated me excellent. English is my second language but that wasn't an obstacle in my case. They always got somebody to translate for me. She always had a lot of patience with me and made sure I understood what she was trying to say. I'm very happy with the settlement. I've given out this firm's number to quite a few of my friends. I highly recommend Michigan Auto Law because our lawyers are always in contact with us.
Kind, compassionate and always had my best interest in mind
By Melinda Soupis, Livonia October 08, 0013
My car insurance company stopped paying my benefits after my car accident. I was confident that my lawyer Alison would protect me and she did. She made sure the insurance company took care of me and got my benefits back to me. She is wonderful. She always made me feel secure in all of my decisions throughout the lawsuit and she always had my best interest in mind. Alison is kind, compassionate and she's very knowledgeable in the auto law. She is not one of those lawyers who want you for the dollar and don't care who you are. I would recommend her to any family or friend of mine.
Hurt terribly after a SMART bus hit us from behind
By John Peake, Sterling Heights July 03, 0013
My wife and I were hurt terribly after a SMART bus hit us from behind. I couldn't stand the throbbing in the back of my head due to the accident and our medical bills were piling up. We called Michigan Auto Law. The first attorney we spoke with was Jeff Bussell and we were very impressed by him. He assured us we had a case and explained everything to us about what to expect during our lawsuit, the No Fault laws and what to do next. We also had Alison Duffy and Bobby Raitt representing us. They helped us keep a positive attitude. We had three mediations and they fought for us. We kept receiving letters from our insurance companies saying they weren't paying our medical bills. Alison and Bob made sure we got our benefits. They answered all of our questions and always reassured us. We had faith in their legal ability that they would do the best they could for us - and they did.
Alison helped me stay in my home by getting me a great settlement
By Frankie Hunter-Lispey, Detroit April 16, 0013
I was in a car accident and my injuries prevented me from working. I lost so much. I was close to losing my home. It had been in my family for generations, but my lawyer Alison helped me stay in my home by getting me a great settlement. I felt like Alison was one of my daughters. We can talk about everything. She is up front and down to earth. She's a go getter. Alison helped me tremendously by always letting me know what was going on and being available when I had questions. She comforted me and she helped me get my no fault benefits so I could recover from my injuries. I wouldn't be where I am today with a roof over my head and a strong future without Alison. I'm so grateful.
As an attorney, I refer clients to Michigan Auto Law
By Jeffrey Chilton, Grosse Pointe November 09, 0012
Michigan Auto Law has professionalism and expertise in the area of auto negligence. As an attorney, I'm often I'm confronted with clients that may have been in an auto negligence situation. Because I am not in that area of practice, it's great to have a firm to refer those people to. Michigan Auto Law has an attention to detail and always reports back to the referring attorney. They keep that referring attorney informed as to the progress of the litigation. I feel very confident that I put the client in good hands with this firm. They go above and beyond. They honor referrals. I know Bobby Raitt personally and professionally, and he would get my highest recommendation.
By Marlene Morgan, Clinton Township July 13, 0012
I've been very very happy with this law firm. I have felt like they have gone above and beyond. Everybody that I've worked with has been very observing of my needs. They have all been compassionate and understanding. They have always called me back immediately and answered my questions to me. I've called Bobby and Alison very overwhelmed. They have always given me the right advice and pointed me in the right direction. I totally trust them. They help me understand things I don't understand. I'm extremely happy with them. I truly believe that they care about me and what I'm going through.
I didn't feel like I was just a number there, which was nice.
By Jackie Reavely, Wardsville, ON June 17, 0011
As Ontario residents, we were over in Michigan for a day trip. Just on our way home, we were in a head on car crash. I was very severely injured. My husband was wondering how we were going to pay the bills and the rest of it. In Canada we have Ohip - medical coverage. Over in Michigan, we knew we had our car insurance (and then it turned out we had a credit card and that has credit insurance). But the whole ordeal was rather stressful because we were not sure of our rights and which auto insurance would be protecting us. My husband went on the Internet and found Bobby Raitt. He called Bobby on Christmas Eve and Bobby got right back to us. We were very impressed with that. We explained our situation and Bobby said he could help us. That instantly took the stress off of us. Bobby is great. He's very personable. Very straight-forward. He was good. Everybody at the entire law firm was so friendly, so kind. Alison Duffy, our other attorney, got back to me every time I e-mailed or called. Bobby and Alison did everything they could for my lawsuit. Even though I live in Canada, I support this law firm and I would recommend Michigan Auto Law in a hear beat. The attorneys and staff were successful, efficient, professional and they were friendly. I didn't feel like I was just a number there, which was nice.
Michigan Auto Law has attorneys and staff who are readily available, personable, caring, trustworthy and professional
By Kathleen Tanner, Highland Park
The old adage of not being able to trust attorneys is absolutely wrong. Alison Duffy and all of the auto accident attorneys at Michigan Auto Law are absolutely trustworthy. My husband found the law firm on the Internet. They looked really professional, specialized in truck accidents and had the best results for those types of lawsuits, so that's why we chose them. We had never been through anything like this before. I was rear-ended at a stop sign by a county salt truck. The force was so hard that I was pushed underneath the car in front of me. My entire life had changed, and I didn't know if I would ever return to normal. Alison helped me through everything. She is very personable. Her whole demeanor is of a trustful person. I knew Alison was interested in me and how I was feeling. She was always available. I never felt like I was being brushed aside. She's very patient and explained things thoroughly. This was so important, because you have to have trust with people you're doing business with. Michigan Auto Law has attorneys and staff who are readily available, personable, caring, trustworthy and professional. I highly recommend this law firm for people who have been injured in truck accidents.
They take care of everything they need to take care of, because all they handle is auto accidents.
By Ray Johnson, Detroit
I was in a fatality car accident. My wife and son were killed. The drivers who caused the accident did not have insurance, and fled to Mexico, so they could not be prosecuted or held accountable for taking my family away from me. I was coming out of a tragedy and felt I had nobody on my side, or who understood the loss and confusion I was going through. Until I found my attorney Alison Duffy. Alison was there for me and did an excellent job at challenging the case. Because the at-fault drivers were uninsured and not residents of the U.S., there was technically no auto insurance benefits or compensation available to me. But Alison did everything possible to get some sort of compensation out of my situation, so I could have something to care for my remaining children. Alison was also a great comfort to me. She was courteous. She always called me back. She keeps me updated on the feed. This law firm was excellent. It's Michigan Auto Law, so they take care of everything they need to take care of, because all they handle is auto accidents. They go above and beyond, especially Alison. I can't say enough good things about her. She is basically an angel. God put her in my life and I thank her for that. I'm glad she was here to help out with our tragedy. This award will help with my children's future. Today is a new day.
Aside from her experience and impressive track record, one of the things that really sets Alison apart is her commitment to – and success at – being an effective, compassionate advocate both inside and outside of the courtroom. As one of Alison’s clients aptly said: “Alison Duffy represented me in litigation … I liked the fact that she is a go-getter. She kept me informed all the way through the process. I could always get a hold of her by e-mail or phone and she always followed up with me. I knew Alison was fighting for my rights and had my best interests in mind. Alison got me the absolute best settlement she could.”
