Do I need to hire a car accident lawyer? Underinsured Motorist Coverage - Part 3

Accident lawyer reveals the steps you must take to collect Underinsured Motorist Coverage in Michigan

The YouTube video I shared earlier this week, “Defense lawyer versus insurance adjuster,” has drawn attention to the way many insurance companies treat people injured in car accidents.

No, you don’t always need to hire an accident lawyer. There are many cases (even when people are injured in a car accident), where I tell people they really don’t need me. But I do think you should at least  talk to a lawyer to find out what your legal rights are, and to make sure you are not unknowingly extinguishing important insurance benefits or legal rights forever by mistake or inadvertence.

Injured auto accident victim responds to personal injury attorney’s top 10 list of worst auto insurance companies by sharing her story of insurance abuse

This week, a reader named Kimberly contacted me after reading one of our most popular blogs: 10 worst auto insurance companies in Michigan. Michigan Auto Law partner gets insurance policy limits and medical benefits for auto accident victim with head, neck and back injuries

I’d like to congratulate my fellow partner David E. Christensen for yet another trial win. Dave’s Washtenaw County car accident case was against our client’s insurance company, USAA, as well as the at-fault driver.

The accident occurred on Ecorse Road in Ypsilanti, when the at-fault driver pulled out from a side-street and crashed into our client. Our client sustained serious personal injuries including herniated discs in his neck and lower back that both required surgery, and a closed-head injury.

Michigan Insurance Lawyer says Drivers Should Still Steer Clear of Insurance Company

As a no-fault insurance lawyer, I’m constantly asked by family, friends and people I meet for the first time about what Michigan auto insurance companies I personally like and recommend. After all, in the past 15 years, I’ve dealt with every insurance company in Michigan, and I’ve seen how they’ve treated hundreds of my clients.

April 9th, 2009

Our no-fault insurance lawyers would like to pass on a recent press release regarding a fake insurance company targeting people in Detroit. As always, we are happy to answer questions about important coverages, and which automobile insurance companies to avoid.

The press release regarding “Fender Bender Insurance Agency” was issued by the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation this week. It states:

LANSING — The Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation (OFIR) is warning Michigan consumers that they may have unknowingly purchased fraudulent automobile insurance certificates from an entity claiming to be a Detroit-based insurance agency named “Fender Bender Insurance Agency.” OFIR Commissioner Ken Ross has ordered Fender Bender to cease and desist from doing business.

If Drunk Driver is Uninsured, Grieving Families Could be Unable to Collect Damages

Last week, the promising lives of four teenagers were abruptly taken when a drunk driver barreled into their car on Gratiot Ave. in Roseville. As if losing their children to an untimely, senseless death isn’t enough, the families of the four St. Clair Shores teenagers may not receive a financial recovery for personal injury/wrongful death damages, Michigan auto accident lawyers say, because the drunk driver may not have been covered by automobile insurance.
