Auto accident attorney garners victory for client injured by Chrysler-owned vehicle

Michigan Lawyers Weekly covers Steve Gursten’s pedestrian/car accident case that resulted in a $5.6 million verdict, the largest reported auto negligence verdict for 2008.

In Broeren v. Bates, a man was run over by a friend’s pickup on a hunting trip. The friend was a Chrysler employee driving a Chrysler test vehicle. Although Chrysler was not a named defendant in the case due to a Michigan loophole, the auto maker still had to pay damages.
