Many insurance companies require customers who have been involved in a traffic crash to obtain a copy of the accident report for claims processing.   Copies of traffic accident reports may be obtained through the Records Section, Monday through Friday 8:30 AM -4:00 PM for $5.  Reports are generally available 48 to 72 hours after the accident occurred.   In order to obtain a copy of a report, either the requestor’s name must appear in the report or a notarized authorization must be presented.  Contact the Records Section for further details.

Copies of Farmington Hills traffic accident reports may be also obtained online for a small fee.

Accident reports in person:  Please call 248-858-5011 to see if the report is available. If available, reports are usually received by our office 4-5 business days after the incident.

If it is available, you may come into our office during business hours to obtain a copy. Bring photo identification and $7 cash per report.
