  • Our Detroit personal injury lawyers won a $63 million award for a woman who fell from her third-floor apartment in Detroit in order to escape a fire caused by the building’s owners’ and managers’ failure to provide functional fire safety equipment or safe egress routes for the tenants. 
  • Our attorneys won a $15 million confidential settlement in an electrical contact injury case.
  • Our attorneys secured a $13 million personal injury settlement.
  • We recovered a $7.75 million personal injury settlement for our client.
  • Lawyers in our Farmington Hills office won a $3.5 million settlement for our client who underwent spine surgery after being injured in a rear-end collision.

  • A $2.5 million award was recovered by our Farmington Hill car accident lawyers for our client who suffered injuries to her SI joints, hip and knee in a rear-end crash.
  • Our Ann Arbor car accident lawyers won a $2 million settlement in a case involving a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while walking in a parking lot.
  • Our Sterling Heights auto accident attorneys obtained a $2 million settlement for our client who suffered a cervical spine herniation in a truck crash.
  • A $1.9 million settlement was won by our Traverse City auto accident attorneys for our client who suffered a leg injury in a motorcycle versus motor vehicle accident.
  • Our Flint bicycle accident attorneys recovered a $1.25 million settlement for a bicyclist who was crossing the street in the crosswalk when he was struck by a motorist who ran a red light. The case settled for the defendant’s insurance policy limits.

At trial, the insurance companies tried to evade responsibility and blame our client for speeding. We were able to expose how baseless this defense was and forced the insurers – The Hartford and VGM Insurance – to be held accountable.
  • A $1.075 million settlement was recovered by our Grand Rapids auto accident lawyers for our client who was injured in a “low-impact” crash caused by the driver of the ride-sharing vehicle in which our client was a paying passenger.

  • Steven Gursten continues to serve in leadership roles for the American Association for Justice Trucking Litigation Group, the AAJ Distracted Driving Litigation Group, the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group, Melvin Belli Society and the Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyers Association.
  • Steven Gursten serves on the Michigan Association for Justice Auto No-Fault Committee, advising the entire MAJ membership and leadership on auto accident insurance issues and Michigan’s No-Fault law.
  • Our attorneys also volunteer and speak at high schools and to parent groups throughout Michigan on teaching teens and parents about the dangers of texting while driving. 
  • Michigan Auto Law sponsors an annual college scholarship in honor of Kelsey Raffaele, the young teen driver who lost her life due to distracted driving and for whom Michigan’s teen distracted driving law, Kelsey’s Law, is named.
  • Brandon Hewitt continues to serve on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association for Justice.
  • Brandon also serves as the Chair of the MAJ committee on Autonomous Vehicles.
  • Jordan Jones was elected Vice Chair of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Trucking Litigation Group.
  • Jordan Jones serves as Co-Chair of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys Health and Wellness Committee. He also serves on the ATAA’s Board of Regents and the ATAA’s Minority Caucus. 
  • Jordan Jones continues to serve on the Executive Board of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Trucking Litigation Group and the AAJ Bus Litigation Group.
  • Steven Gursten is a past-President of the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group, the Distracted Driving Litigation Group, and the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group. Steve is also a past-President of the Melvin Belli Society and the Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyers Association.
