The underlying traffic accident data analysis is compiled using motor vehicle accident reports filed by local law enforcement and police departments throughout Michigan.

More Information On The Top 2 of Oakland County’s Most Dangerous Intersections
No. 1: MARTIN PKWY @ N PONTIAC TRL, Commerce Township
The largest roundabout in Oakland County is again in the #1 spot on the list of Oakland County’s Most Dangerous Intersections.
Total crashes in 2023 were 160, up from 126 in 2022, 140 in 2021, and 110 in 2020.
However, total crashes in 2023 were down slightly from 161 in 2019.
Injuries in 2023 dropped to 11 from 13 in 2022. In 2021, 2020, and 2019, there were 18, 4, and 12 injuries, respectively.

No. 2: ORCHARD LAKE RD @ 14 MILE RD, Farmington Hills
This congested Oakland County roundabout finds itself in the #2 spot on the list of Oakland County’s Most Dangerous Intersections. Previously, it was #2 on the lists for 2020 and 2021.
Significantly, this congested Oakland County roundabout saw large increases in both total crashes and injuries in 2023.
Total crashes more than doubled, going from 64 in 2022 to 132 in 2023.
And injuries tripled, going from 4 in 2022 to 12 in 2023
Previous years have seen significant fluctuations in the number of motor vehicle accidents occurring at this roundabout. In 2021, there were 122 total crashes. In 2020, there were 89. But in 2019, there 178 – the highest number in the five-year period between 2019-2023.
Injuries have also fluctuated in previous years, but not as drastically. In 2021, 2020 and 2019, there were 15, 11 and 22 injuries respectively.
