U.S. News & World Report’s annual ‘Best Law Firms’ has Michigan Auto Law top ranked for 8th straight year for excellent Metro Detroit personal injury litigation
I’m pleased to announce that for the eighth year in a row, Michigan Auto Law’s attorneys have been named among America’s “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News & World Report, which gave us a First-Tier ranking for Metro Detroit.
The analysis was done by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers in America. The law firms and their rankings can be found online at BestLawFirms.USNews.com, as well as in U.S. News & World Report’s fourth annual “Legal Issue” and the Best Law Firms standalone publication.
The mission of Best Law Firms is to help referring lawyers and clients find the best lawyers in Michigan. In our case, it’s for the best Michigan personal injury attorneys after someone has been seriously injured or killed in a car crash.
The Best Law Firms rankings are based upon voting by other Michigan lawyers.
What do legal honors like Best Law Firm really mean to us?
It is a nice honor for all of our attorneys and excellent support staff who work so hard and care so much to be recognized with the top ranking in every edition of Best Law Firms, which began publication in 2011.
The publication states that “achieving a high ranking is a special distinction that signals a unique combination of excellence and breadth of expertise.”
Those two words, excellence and expertise, are hard earned. But to be excellent and to be an expert is not a race with a finish line. It’s more like a garden, and you’re never done. There’s always more work to be done. For the best lawyers and law firms, if you’re doing things right, there’s always more work to be done. You’re never finished.
That’s what we do when we go to work every day.
To me, our expertise comes from doing things the hard way.
In a world where most personal injury law firms try to sign as many cases as they can, our business model is to sign fewer auto accident cases.
Instead of grabbing all that we can take the way that the “churn-and-burn” settlement mills and many TV advertisers do to feed massive advertising budgets, we’ve gone a different way entirely.
Taking fewer cases allows our auto accident attorneys to spend more time working on clients’ cases, which lead to better settlement results and trial results.
It’s why Michigan Auto Law has been named a best law firm in Michigan ever since the award for best law firms was announced in 2011. Our real legal excellence comes from how we treat our clients. These are people who often have lost everything and who are in terrible pain following a car crash. Often, they can’t return to work and they can’t pay their bills. Our lawyers truly care about the people we are asked to help and protect, because they depend on us.
When we as attorneys do our job the right way and for the right reasons, when service to our clients comes first, legal honors and recognition for being the best — including our recently being named to the Best Lawyers in America list — will certainly follow.
Or, to put it another way, if we didn’t care and work so hard to have a connection with our clients and have compassion for the people we are entrusted with helping, we wouldn’t be getting the best lawyer awards at all.
To be recognized professionally by both our fellow lawyers and by our clients is a nice honor, but now it’s time to get back to work so we can continue to protect and care for our clients to the very best of our ability.
