Rising Stars award is limited to the top 2.5 percent of Michigan attorneys
Yesterday, I announced Michigan Auto Law’s 8 attorneys who were named 2016 Michigan Super Lawyers.
And today, I’m proud to announce that three more Michigan Auto Law attorneys have been named “2016 Michigan Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers.
Michigan Auto Law’s “Rising Star” Attorneys are:
- Alison F. Duffy: As a litigation attorney at Michigan Auto Law, Alison Faith Duffy focuses her practice on trying auto accident and No-Fault (PIP) cases. In doing so, she has gained extensive experience handling Medicare, Medicaid or ERISA issues that arise in No-Fault litigation – which has resulted in her being regularly consulted on the subject. Despite being relatively early in her career, Alison has shown herself to be a proven fighter with experience beyond her years. She has litigated numerous cases before state and federal court juries and, recently, she and Michigan Auto Law partner Robert Raitt won a $4.6 million verdict in a traumatic brain injury case in Wayne County. These early successes of Alison’s have been recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly, when the legal newspaper named Alison as one of its “Up and Coming Attorneys,” and, now, by Super Lawyers with its “Rising Stars” award. Aside from her experience and impressive track record, one of the things that really sets Alison apart is her commitment to – and success at – being an effective, compassionate advocate both inside and outside of the courtroom. As one of Alison’s clients aptly said: “Alison Duffy represented me in litigation … I liked the fact that she is a go-getter. She kept me informed all the way through the process. I could always get a hold of her by e-mail or phone and she always followed up with me. I knew Alison was fighting for my rights and had my best interests in mind. Alison got me the absolute best settlement she could.”
- Joshua R. Terebelo: Josh works in the law firm’s auto accident litigation and trial division, where he focuses on No-Fault PIP insurance lawsuits.Josh helps victims of auto accidents receive their first-party No Fault insurance personal injury protection (PIP) benefits. Josh is widely consulted on helping Michigan insurance lawyers recover penalty interest and attorney fees in first-party No-Fault insurance lawsuits. Josh is also considered one of the most knowledgeable injury attorneys in Michigan on helping Canadians who are injured in automobile accidents when travelling in Michigan, and on the differences between Canadian personal injury law and Michigan’s auto No Fault law. Josh has also lectured on this topic for the Michigan Association for Justice No Fault Institute seminar.
- Jordan M. Jones: Jordan is a litigation attorney at Michigan Auto Law, with a sub-specialty in both serious truck accident case investigation and first-party No Fault litigation. He was a part of the team that in 2014 earned the top-reported truck accident injury settlement in the United States – a settlement of $34 million dollars. Jordan was also an integral part of the trial team that returned the highest reported truck accident jury verdict in the state of Michigan in 2012, according to published reports from Michigan Lawyers Weekly). In this case, a Macomb County jury awarded a $2.55 million verdict to the surviving family of an elderly man who was hit and killed by a commercial truck while riding his bicycle.
“Rising Stars” status is limited to the top 2.5 percent of Michigan attorneys.
What ‘Rising Stars’ status symbolizes
Being named to this list is a testament to and a true reflection of the way Michigan Auto Law’s attorneys – and our team of paralegals and legal secretaries – treat the people we’re entrusted with helping after terrible car wrecks and truck accidents all across the state. We care about our clients – and everyone here works hard to provide great communication, care, dedication and respect while we’re litigating their auto accident cases.
‘Rising Stars’ status also reflects the legal excellence displayed by these up-and-coming motor vehicle accident attorneys.
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters publication, is a listing of outstanding lawyers in Michigan who qualify as “Rising Stars.” The organization employs a selection process that combines peer nominations and evaluations with third-party research. Each Super Lawyers candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition, professional achievement and legal excellence.
