Our attorneys’ list of the top 10 worst intersections in Ingham County for auto wrecks, with crash data from the Michigan State Police
Our attorneys worked with and would like to thank the Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reporting Unit, which collects motor vehicle accident reports from local law enforcement to identify what Lansing, Michigan and overall in Ingham County intersections had the most overall auto accidents in 2015. These include any streets and intersection that has a traffic signal, freeway interchange or roundabout.
Review the list below, and please consider using extra caution if you are driving through any of the streets listed below. As always, drive safely.

Before we dive into some of the specific intersections, keep in mind, the above list includes total crashes – meaning the combined total of property-damage-only, injury and fatal crashes.
#1 – Grand River Avenue @ Hagadorn Road – East Lansing
This busy intersection typically shows up in the top ten list with 2015 as no exception at 68 total crashes. Use caution as pedestrian traffic is also a factor with the area bordering the sprawling MSU campus.
#2 – Jolly Road @ Cedar Street – Lansing
Another area seen frequently on the list of high crash intersections, Jolly and Cedar had an increase in crashes in 2015 going from 51 to 55 total auto accidents. Of those, 17 resulted in injuries – the highest in the entire county.
#3 – Saginaw Street @ Clippert Street – Lansing
This Lansing intersection had the same amount of crashes as #2 above, but considerably fewer injuries with only 4 last year. Being so close to US 127 this area sees heavy traffic from numerous local businesses in the area.
