Attorneys make football wager for charity: Michigan vs. OSU

November 29, 2014 by Steven M. Gursten

Sports Illustrated UM v. OSU

My friend and Cleveland attorney David Paris has proposed a friendly wager to the charity of the winner’s choice on the Michigan v. OSU football game today.

U of M is set to play the Ohio State Buckeyes today.

The loser will make a charity contribution to the charity of the winner’s choice.

My charity is the Forgotten Harvest food bank in Oak Park, Michigan.

I joked with David that this isn’t the ’90s anymore, when Michigan kept repeatedly knocking off OSU and ruining their perfect seasons and dashing national championship hopes. Oh, poor Buckeyes. Of course, this isn’t the ’90s, anymore, either. Michigan lost to lowly Maryland last week at home. So I get the points. And a picture of David wearing a University of Michigan shirt if we beat the spread. Would you believe David agreed?

By the way, I thought everyone would get a kick out of the photo above. I presented with this Ohio State shirt from my friend Andy Young at the Ohio Association for Justice annual conference.

A fun rivalry, all in the name of charity.
