Football face off for charity: Lions v. Cowboys

October 27, 2013 by Steven M. Gursten

lions v cowboysI’m with my friend Steve Laird right now at the American Association for Justice trucking accident seminar on broker shipper liability, and we decided over lunch to make a friendly charity wager on today’s game, when my Detroit Lions will face off against the Dallas Cowboys.

Steve Laird is an phenomenal trial attorney from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas who, like myself, focuses on serious personal injury and truck accident injury cases. We’ve known each other for many years, and have attended many legal seminars together.

So, our bet for Sunday: If my Detroit Lions beat Steve’s Cowboys, Steve Laird will make a donation to my chosen charity, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. If, on the off-chance that the Cowboys beat the Lions, I’ll make a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Arlington, Texas, which is Steve’s chosen charity for our wager.

Again, regardless of the pigskin outcome, this is a win-win for a great cause.
