Michigan accident lawyer in DBusiness: Delay, Deny, Defend

Steven Gursten discusses insurance company abuse, dishonest insurance doctors and pending No-Fault “reform” legislation

Steven Gursten, accident lawyer and head of Michigan Auto Law, was featured in a DBusiness magazine article delving into abuse at the hands of Michigan insurance companies.

Gursten told the magazine about how insurance company doctors called independent medical examiners (IMEs) don’t really have the accident victim’s best interest in mind.

Said Gursten: “The public would be shocked if they knew of the industry that exists in Michigan, of doctors who make enormous amounts of money cutting people off left and right. A lot of these doctors don’t practice anymore. They don’t treat people anymore. And they’re making vast amounts of money doing 15-minute examinations and then writing reports saying people don’t need benefits.”
