Tom’s niche in wage loss recovery and attendant care for car accident victims is noted by Michigan trial lawyers organization
I’m proud to announce that one of our outstanding No-Fault insurance attorneys Thomas W. James has been named a Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) Pacesetter. “Pacesetter” is a recognition from the MAJ that highlights noteworthy Michigan attorneys excelling in their fields. The MAJ is a state organization of over 2,000 personal injury lawyers and insurance lawyers who are dedicated to helping accident victims. Michigan Auto Law attorneys are strong supporters of the Michigan Association for Justice.
Being a trial attorney is a second career for Tom, who started off in business. He credits his business experience (an MBA, accounting degree and pre-law work history) as helping him carve out a niche in his first-party no fault practice of wage loss recovery and attendant care for seriously injured auto accident victims.
Tom told the MAJ: “Our firm’s focus of assisting victims of car crashes allows our lawyers to spend less time trying to figure out what the law is and more time strategizing on how to obtain and fair and reasonable recovery… I really enjoy digging through the numbers, receipts, earning and expenses to figure out the true wage loss for my self-employed clients.”
At Michigan Auto Law, Tom has been successful in obtaining many multi-million dollar jury verdicts. But holding insurance companies accountable when adjusters deny payment and violate their legal obligations to people who are hurt in car accidents is what drives him.
Tom has been involved in over $12 million dollars in jury trial verdicts already in his career, and he has pursued a $3,000 medical expense – only case all the way up to the day before trial, when the insurance company finally agreed to pay the bill plus interest and attorney fees. For Tom, it’s the principle and helping people that counts most, and he’s steadfast in protecting his clients. Tom doesn’t believe in compromising for less than what a case is valued — just because more work might be involved.
