Personal injury lawyers say trial reputation is tantamount to getting fair settlements

Steven M. Gursten is featured in Michigan Lawyers Weekly for his $950,000 car accident settlement in Hayden v. Highland Transport. What made this case notable was the high settlement despite significant obstacles for the personal injury lawyer Steve Gursten and his client.

As the newspaper said, the plaintiff did not lose consciousness at the car accident scene after he was hit by a commercial truck. He said he was okay, did not have surgery and returned to work within two months. The newspaper said one of the keys to achieving such a significant settlement was the trial reputation of the plaintiff’s attorneys, Steve Gursten and Larry Gursten.

Said Larry, “Having a successful track record at trial allows for mutual respect and fair settlements. But respect also means having a track record at trial, so defendants understand there is signifcant risk and exposure if they do not make reasonable offers.” In the article, the Steve Gursten and Larry Gursten give tips for other attorneys handling car accident cases.
