Steven Gursten in Wall Street Journal: What’s really behind large truck accident verdicts

Gursten, of Michigan Auto Law, tells Wall Street Journal it’s really the dangerous trucking companies that are causing insurance companies money

Steven Gursten was quoted in The Wall Street Journal as an attorney expert source regarding trucking insurance limits and the real reason recent truck accident verdicts are high.

The story stated that many insurers are now fleeing the commercial transport insurance markets, and the trucking industry blamed attorneys who litigate trucking injury and death cases. But Gursten said otherwise:

“Steven Gursten, a Michigan attorney specializing in severe trucking accidents, said lawyers have
moved away from blaming individual drivers and are instead looking for signs that companies
have violated safety regulations fleetwide. Evidence that they have can open a company up to
millions of dollars in punitive damages, he said.”
