Truck accident lawyer Steve Gursten gets $3.5 million verdict on insurance company offer of $1 million in record Jackson County, Michigan lawsuit
Michigan Lawyers Weekly lists truck truck accident lawyer Steve Gursten’s verdict as the highest truck accident verdict in the state for the year. The Jackson County case, Fairley v. Schiber Truck Co. et. al, involved a man who was rear-ended by a semi-truck and pushed into another oncoming truck in Jackson, Michigan. This verdict was solely for the plaintiff’s pain and suffering, and will not be appealed.
Gursten noted that the defendant insurance company, Zurich, pushed the truck accident case to trial, assuming the conservative Jackson County jury would never return the deserved verdict – no matter how badly the plaintiff was injured.
The newspaper also covered the way Gursten handled this intricate, complicated truck case: He took into account the opinion of other truck experts, who are also his attorney friends from across the country. Said Gursten, “You’re not reinventing the wheel. You really are standing on the shoulders of giants, and these are giants I can call my friends, who I can ask a legal favor and I know they’ll help me.”
