$4.6 million Michigan Auto Law verdict in 25 minutes

Attorneys Robert Raitt and Alison Duffy secure verdict against CVS for elderly woman with a head injury

Michigan Lawyers Weekly covered a $4.6 million verdict by  trial attorneys Robert Raitt and Alison Duffy of Farmington Hills-based Michigan Auto Law.

On Sept. 3, Raitt and Duffy secured the $4.6 million jury verdict (plus impending trial sanctions) in Wayne County Circuit Court. They were able to prove that the August 2012 incident could easily have been avoided if only CVS had followed its own safety procedures.

Raitt told Lawyers Weekly his strategy was to focus on his client’s credibility, three neurology experts’ knowledge, and a CVS assistant manager’s conflicting testimony, which he said amounted to “the defendant’s lying and not accepting responsibility.”
