Headache pain is real and can be debilitating. Post-traumatic headaches can present themselves either after actual physical trauma or as a result of the head and neck whipping back and forth in a rear-end collision.

A car accident victim can develop a headache shortly after the accident and it may last only a few hours or days. Others may experience headache pain for months, years, or even the rest of their lives. Oddly enough, the severity of the actual trauma does not necessarily correlate with the severity or duration of the pain. A relatively minor trauma event can produce lasting problems.

Oftentimes, post-traumatic headache is viewed as a diagnosis in and of itself, but in reality the pain is caused by a specific action and the cure must be tailored to that specific trauma.
