Dangerous Intersections In The Lansing Area

Lansing Dangerous Intersections provided by the Lansing lawyers of Michigan Auto Law.With nearly one-third of all fatal crashes in Michigan occurring at intersections, the Lansing attorneys of Michigan Auto Law are often asked which intersections are considered the most dangerous in mid Michigan. We've collected statistics to protect drivers from the high-risk areas in and around Lansing:

In 2009 the Michigan State Police recently published 2008 data for the state's top 100 high-crash roads - and two stretches of Ingham County made the list. These problem roads are based on the number of car accidents reported to police in Ingham County:

  1. East Grand River Ave. between North Clippert Street and Saginaw/Grand River cutoff
  2. West Grand River Ave. between Okemos and Marsh Roads

In addition to high crash intersections, our Lansing attorneys are also asked when more car crashes occur.  Consider the following from the 2008 Michigan Traffic Crash Facts:

  • More fatal crashes occurred between 12:00 (noon) and 3:59 p.m. than any other time period.
  • More fatal crashes occurred on both Friday and Saturday than any other day.
  • More fatal crashes occurred in July than any other month.
