Who’s really behind the wheel of driverless cars?

February 20, 2015 by Steven M. Gursten

Todd Berg of Michigan Auto Law discusses liability of autonomous car accidents on Legal Talk Network’s Lawyer 2 Lawyer podcast

The technology of driverless cars is developing quickly. And as these vehicles – with new advanced technology that enables them to navigate without a human driver – develop, the discussions about who’s really liable in the event of a crash continue.

This issue is further complicated when considering the driver of the “driverless car.” Is it the owner, the manufacturer, or even a passenger who gives a voice command?

Todd Berg of Michigan Auto Law recently weighed in as a legal expert on the Lawyer to Lawyer podcast, featured on the Legal Talk Network.

Said Todd:

“I understand it’s a developing technology and they need to have the room to grow and move and flexibility. But at the same time, the public needs to be protected and somebody needs to be held accountable when someone gets hurt or someone dies.”
