Injury attorney in Michigan Lawyers Weekly for pre-law experience

March 11, 2011 by Steven M. Gursten

Tom James’ great trial record, settlements and work ethic result from an MBA, previous business career and drive that only comes with maturity

Michigan Lawyers Weekly has featured one of our personal injury attorneys, Tom James. The story highlights the way Tom, an attorney of five years, has mastered trials, compared to most recent law school graduates. Tom’s success is in large part, due to his previous experience.

Tom graduated law school at age 38. Before that, he earned his MBA and had jobs in the business field. This has enabled Tom to surpass other lawyers.

For instance, Tom is recovering more than $100,000 a year just in penalty interest and attorney fees in his No-Fault cases.  Tom tried his first case almost immediately after starting with Michigan Auto Law. And as a lawyer with only five years experience, Tom has been involved as second chair in three trials that have produced more than 12 million in verdicts. He’s also had more six-figure settlements in the last few years than most lawyers with 20 years experience.

Here’s the Michigan Lawyers Weekly story featuring Tom: Experience wins over youth – most days
