Before our lawyers dive into some of the specific intersections, keep in mind, the above list includes “total motor vehicle accidents” – meaning these numbers include both car accidents where an injury is reported, all fatality crashes, and property-damage-only collisions.
No. 1: Telegraph Road and Stewart Road – Frenchtown Township
The Monroe County intersection with the most automobile accidents in 2015 is a busy area west of town. Unfortunately, the intersection had a spike in total crashes between 2014 and 2015, jumping from 34 to 58 car accidents year to year. Many local drivers are well aware that Telegraph Road can be risky, as high speed limits and busy traffic contributes to crashes. In addition, six out of the 10 intersections on the list are along Telegraph Road.
No. 2: Secor Road and Sterns Road – Bedford Township
Another local intersection, this one in Bedford Township, had an increase in auto accidents. This area has shown up on our top 10 lists every year since we began sharing the data.
No. 3: Cole Road and Monroe Street – Frenchtown Township
As we’ve seen with the other two, this intersection shows up every year on our top 10 list and also experienced an increase in crashes, primarily due to traffic congestion.
