Here are the Macomb County intersections where you’re most likely to crash

Our attorneys are sharing one list of the intersections with the most car accidents involving vehicle damage and another with the most injuries and fatalities

Below you will see two lists. The first list has all of the intersections in Macomb County with the most reported car accidents in 2014. Our attorneys use data reported by the Traffic Crash Reporting Unit of the Michigan State Police. The first list has a higher total number of motor vehicle accidents, but many of these are  fender benders in high- traffic areas without any reported injury.

Our second list includes the Macomb County intersections with the most reported car accident injuries, or where a fatality occurred.

Cass Avenue and South Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township held onto the top spot once again with 70 car accidents in 2014. This is a significant decrease from the 90 accidents that made this the top intersection in the entire state in 2013 for total auto accidents.

The area also had the most injury/fatality accidents once again, with 25 occurring in 2014, down just one accident from 2013. As we’ve reported in past blog posts, this intersection continues to be a very busy, high-risk area and drivers need to exercise extra caution.

One other Macomb County intersection that jumped up to the No. 2 spot on both lists is 23 Mile and Romeo Plank Roads in Macomb Township. This area did not make the list at all last year, but doubled in total auto accidents in 2014 to 66 accidents. Given the population growth in this area, we hope the current traffic lights and signage are able to keep up with a higher volume of vehicle traffic.
