Truck accident attorney gets $3.5 million for man injured by two semi-trucks in Jackson County

I’m happy to announce that Michigan Auto Law received the top-reported 2010 personal injury trial verdict for a truck accident in Michigan. This was based upon year-end compilations of all the jury verdicts as reported in the January 10 issue of Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
The case was my truck accident lawsuit for Jim and Kim Fairley. We went to trial in Jackson, Michigan, against Schiber Truck Company. I am especially gratified that my client, a wonderful person who was seriously injured, was able to have such a wonderful result.

Steve Gursten explains how friends from around the country helped in most recent trial, in Jackson County
The Beatles wrote “With a little help from my friends.”
It certainly applies to the help I received from many good friends getting ready for my last trial. Last Wednesday, a Jackson County jury returned a verdict of $3.5 million for my clients, Jim and Kim Fairley, who were seriously injured in a truck accident on April 4, 2008. The insurance company had only offered $1 million to settle the case.

Michigan truck accident lawyers Bobby Raitt and Alison Tomak beat Liberty Mutual MIST defense at trial
Yesterday, my partner Bobby Raitt and associate attorney Alison Tomak did a terrific job for a seriously injured client. A Macomb County jury returned a verdict just shy of a million dollars on a truck accident case that the auto insurance company for the defendant, Liberty Mutual, tactically decided to take a very tough position on.

A reader recently wrote in after reading my blog on the Dirtiest Insurance Company Trick of All. “Phil” stated that in the very serious car accident case I had written about, Farm Bureau Insurance company had every right to deliberately mislead the jury (I assume Phil is not a claims adjuster who works for Farm Bureau).
Actually, I really appreciate Phil’s comments and I am sure there are many people feel the same way as he does. That’s why I decided to re-post his comment and my response as today’s blog.

Steve Gursten’s settlement was for a serious traumatic brain injury accident in Roseville, which is in Macomb County, Mich. In this case, the metal leg of a traffic sign that was not properly secured, blew through the windshield of the plaintiff’s vehicle, striking her in the head.
