Michigan Third Party Claims

You are required to carry minimal residual liability insurance with limits of $20,000 for one individual; $40,000 per accident if more than one person was hurt. Insurance companies do offer higher coverage amounts and broader insurance coverage such as uninsured and underinsured motorist benefits, for an additional price. Michigan Auto Law does strongly recommend the purchase of these additional coverages.

Money for pain and suffering is allowable in the event of injury or death.

You can also recover damages against the wrongdoer driver for wage loss that goes above beyond 3 years or the stated maximum.

Auto accidents are responsible for the highest number of fatalities in Michigan and the U.S. for people between the ages 6-27. Careless actions from negligent drivers account for many Michigan personal injury auto accidents. Auto accidents injure passengers and pedestrians leading to the death of 41,345 people and 4,695 pedestrians every year.

A Michigan auto accident is the most common Michigan personal injury claim.
